Kindergarten Roundup for parents to pre-enroll their child for the school year 2013-2014 will be Monday, January 28th through Friday, February 1st, 2013 at the neighborhood schools.
To be eligible to enroll in Kindergarten, your child must be
five years of age by 12:01 a.m., September 1, 2013. Please bring the following information for registration:
- Immunization Record – Your child must have completed or be in the process of completing the Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis (DTP or DTaP), Hepatitis B, and Polio series. At least one dose of DTP/DTaP must be given on or after age four. Two Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) and 2 Varicella (or proof of chicken pox disease). Minimum age for 1st dose is 12 months; 2nd dose recommended at age 4-5 years. 2nd dose acceptable before age 4 years with minimum of 28 days between 1st & 2nd doses. You must bring proof of these shots when you enroll your child. School nurses will be providing immunization shots during the week of Kindergarten Roundup (January 28th -February 1st) from 9:00 – 12:00 am at the Central Office – 1515 E. Sanger. Your family physician or the health department may also assist you with these requirements or you can call the Lea County Health Office, for office hours to make an appointment.
- Two (2) proofs of residency (ex. rent receipt, house payment receipt, utility bills, etc.)
- Child’s Social Security Card
Without all this information your child’s registration will not be complete. This means your child will not be put into a classroom until all information is received items and enroll in the fall at your neighborhood school. However, waiting until August to enroll your child may mean that all classes are full in your district.
