HMS Supt. Gene Strickland celebrated district accomplishments during his welcome back address to employees on Tuesday. Included was the story of Juanita Castillo, a longtime HMS custodian who earned her associate's degree while working, coaching and caring for a family of 7 children.

Incoming sixth-graders got a chance to explore their new schools on Monday during a "Jump Start" orientation at all three middle schools. Click on the photo for highlights.

 TJ Parks on Wednesday was inducted into the New Mexico Coalition of Educational Leaders Hall of Fame. Pictured with former HMS Supt. Stan Rounds (who is now the director of NMCEL), Parks spent 40 years in public education before retiring as HMS superintendent on July 1.
