The goal of HMS Remote Learning is to keep students engaged and learning, and to provide structure, connection, and support to allow students to progress to the next level.

Implementation Timeline

March 30 - April 3

  • Week 1 Digital Educational Opportunities available at Hobbsschools.net ; Packets Provided for PK-12th during lunch distribution and at bus stops.
  • HMS encourages students to use online material in order to save printing.
  • Teacher Professional Development and Planning for E-Learning Rollout
  • Superintendent Parks - Facebook live event March 31st @ 4:00 pm to give the community an update.

April 6 - 10

  • Week 2 Digital Educational Opportunities available at Hobbsschools.net ; Packets Provided for PK-12th during lunch distribution and at bus stops.

April 13 - May 22

Remote learning begins; Packets Provided for PK-12th during lunch distribution and at bus stops for those without Internet Packets may be picked up at the students home campus.

Devices & Connectivity

HMS will hand out devices to families of HMS students who do not have a computer in their home based upon HMS Household Needs Assessment.

We will check out computers to families at specific sites on March 30th - April 3rd; parents will be notified to schedule an appointment for device distribution.

We will provide documents that can be completed without internet (Instructions will be provided.)

DIGITAL LEARNING BEGINS

April 6, 2020

HMS will check out devices to families of HMS students who do not have a computer in their home based upon submissions of the HMS Household Needs Assessment form found on the Hobbs Schools homepage.

If you qualify and if devices are still available you will be contacted by phone at the number you supplied in the survey to setup an appointment to receive a device. One device per household will be issued by appointment only. Please do not show up to a building if you do not have an appointment. Also, make sure you answer your phone if you receive a call from a 575-433-XXXX number.

Special Education and 504

  • Parents will be notified in writing concerning how services will be provided.
  • Students will be contacted by a SPED teacher or EA either virtually or by phone to check in during the week as outlined in the notification.
